Writer Wednesday – Jane Bennett Munro

Just going through all my bookmarks and deleting those that no longer work, and found this.

Book In The Bag

Let’s start with the basics. Who are you?
Jane Bennett Munro

Tell us (briefly) about you…
I’m a pathologist. Not a medical examiner. Just a general hospital based pathologist in a rural hospital. I was solo for 24 years. Now I have three partners. I’m 67 years old and semi-retired. I’ve done a number of coroner’s cases, have given depositions and testified before a grand jury, but I’ve been lucky enough to stay out of court. I served 8 years on the Idaho State Board of Medicine and was chairman for two years.

…and a bit about what you’ve written…

Art in the Park is here, and where’s my book?

This weekend is Art in the Park, sponsored by the Magic Valley Arts Council. This year there will be a food truck from “Garden to Go”, a wine tasting, and music on Friday night, and on Saturday lots of kids activities, an ice cream social, a dunk tank, and other activities, as well as more food vendors. In the midst of all that will be the artisans, such as myself, selling our wares. I will have my first four Toni Day mysteries for sale. I’m sorry to say that the fifth, The Body on the Lido Deck, is still not available; but I’m pretty sure I’ll have it for Thousand Springs.

That’s in September. My book is in proofreading right now. After that, I have to decide which changes to accept or not accept, then they send the corrected proof for me to review, make final changes, then it’s off to the printer.

Once I receive my physical printer copy, I can order books to sell. Once I receive them, I can schedule the launch party.

It would be nice to have that prior to Thousand Springs. Otherwise, Thousand Springs will be the launch party.

Bummer. Major bummage.
