Apparently the title Too Much Blood is a go.
It’s been through its initial editorial evaluation, and is about to go into the first phase of developmental editing. I should hear back in about 3 weeks, enough time to run off to Philly for a while to visit my gentleman friend. When I get home, it’ll probably be back to work for me. I download from my laptop to a thumb drive, take it to work, open it on my work computer, work on it if I have time between frozen sections and bone marrows, load it back on the thumb drive and take it home to my laptop. I can edit it that way too. My partners come in and watch sometimes. To them it’s a Totally New Concept.
I’m finding facebook and twitter more interesting now since more people are following me. Some of them are also physician mystery writers. I even got a tweet from Michael Palmer, one of my favorites. A pathologist I know from Boise but haven’t seen for a long time checked out my book and told me his daughter had written one. I bought it and read it. I’m checking out some of those other docs’ books too, and even some written my non-physicians; hey, I’m not fussy. It’s fun to communicate with others like me and see how they write. I might learn something, who knows?
On April 21 I’ll be signing 75 copies of Murder Under the Microscope at the LA Times Book Festival, and getting other authors to sign books for me. I can’t wait; that’s going to be a heady experience. Maybe I better take an extra suitcase. By that time Too Much Blood might actually be through all its editing. It might even be out. Wouldn’t it be cool if I could sign copies of both books while I’m there?
Once TMB is out, I can talk more about what’s happening to my alter ego, Toni Day, but not now; it might spoil the suspense. For now I urge my readers (bless ’em!) to go back to Amazon or Barnes & Noble or iUniverse or my website and write a short review. I need reviews to help sell it. Thanks in advance. I love you all!
Gotta go feed Henrietta now. She won’t shut up until I do.
